Mumbai:  In a significant political development, Ritu Tawde of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been elected as the new Mayor of Mumbai. Sanjay Ghadi of the Shiv Sena has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor. The mayoral election, held at the headquarters of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), saw Tawde secure the required majority with support from allied councillors. Her election marks a new phase in the functioning of the civic body, which governs India’s finan
