15-Year-Old Band Player Killed in Firing During Wedding Procession in Sagar

Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): Tragedy struck a wedding celebration in Sagar late Thursday night when a 15-year-old band player was shot and killed during a firing incident, police said. The boy reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The incident occurred near Gola Kuan, located under the jurisdiction of the Motinagar Police Station. Eyewitnesses stated that the wedding procession was underway when celebratory firing escalated into a fatal situation. Panic ensued among guests and onlookers, with some fleeing the scene in fear.

Police officials quickly arrived at the site and cordoned off the area.

Preliminary investigations indicate that multiple rounds were fired during the celebration. Authorities have also seized drone cameras that were reportedly used to film the procession, in order to gather visual evidence of the incident.


Local police have registered a case of culpable homicide and are investigating the circumstances leading to the tragic shooting. Senior officers confirmed that they are interviewing witnesses, wedding organisers, and family members of the victims to identify the individuals responsible for the firing.


The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who have condemned the practice of firing guns during celebrations. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, emphasizing the dangers posed by firearms in public gatherings.
