17-Year-Old Allegedly Crushes 24-Year-Old Man With Luxury Car in Pune

Pune: A 24-year-old man was allegedly run over and killed by a 17-year-old driving a luxury car in Pune, police said on Tuesday. The incident has once again raised serious concerns about underage driving and road safety.

According to officials, the accident occurred late at night in a busy area of the city. The victim, identified as a 24-year-old local resident, was reportedly walking along the roadside when the high-end vehicle allegedly being driven by the minor rammed into him at high speed.

Luxury Car

Eyewitnesses claimed the impact was severe, and the victim sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.


Minor Detained, Case Registered

Police said the driver was a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly behind the wheel of the luxury car at the time of the crash. He has been detained and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Authorities are also investigating how the minor gained access to the vehicle and whether the car belonged to a family member. Action is likely to be taken against the vehicle owner for allowing an underage person to drive.


Investigation Underway

Police teams are examining CCTV footage from the area and recording statements of witnesses to ascertain the sequence of events. The vehicle involved in the crash has been seized for mechanical inspection.

Senior officials stated that strict action would be taken in accordance with the law. The minor is expected to be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for further proceedings.


The tragic incident has triggered outrage among residents, who have demanded stricter enforcement against underage driving and reckless behavior on city roads. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
