20 People Arrested in Rajasthan for Securing Teachers’ Jobs Under ‘Outstanding Athlete’ Quota

Police in Rajasthan have arrested 20 individuals in connection with an alleged scam involving the illegal securing of government teachers’ jobs under the ‘Outstanding Athlete’ quota.

Outstanding Athlete

According to officials, the accused are suspected of using fake sports certificates and forged documents to obtain appointments in the education department by falsely claiming eligibility under the special quota meant for distinguished sportspersons.

The case came to light after authorities noticed irregularities in the verification of sports credentials submitted by several candidates who had been recruited as teachers in government schools. Following complaints and preliminary scrutiny, an investigation was launched by the police and the education department.

During the probe, investigators reportedly found that some candidates had submitted fabricated or manipulated sports achievements to qualify under the outstanding athlete category. This quota is intended to encourage and support sportspersons by providing them employment opportunities in government services.

Police said that the accused were involved in a larger network that allegedly helped candidates obtain forged certificates claiming participation or achievements in sports events. These documents were then used during the recruitment process to gain an unfair advantage over other applicants.

Authorities have seized several documents and digital records during raids conducted as part of the investigation. Officials are now examining the authenticity of the sports certificates and identifying the officials or intermediaries who may have assisted in the fraudulent appointments.

The arrests have raised concerns about the misuse of special reservation quotas meant for sportspersons and the integrity of recruitment processes in government jobs.

Police said further investigation is underway and more arrests could follow as authorities continue to trace the wider network involved in the alleged scam. Officials also indicated that the government may review the appointments made under the quota to determine whether additional action is required.
