The operation was conducted by teams from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), with assistance from the Delhi Police. Officials said the action was carried out amid tight security arrangements to prevent any disturbance during the demolition and sealing process.

According to civic officials, bulldozers were deployed to remove alleged illegal structures and encroachments along roads and public spaces in the area. Shops and eateries that were found operating in violation of municipal rules or without proper authorization were sealed during the drive.

Authorities said the action was part of an ongoing effort to clear encroachments from public land and ensure compliance with civic regulations. The drive also aimed to improve pedestrian movement and reduce congestion in the busy commercial locality.

During the operation, enforcement teams inspected multiple establishments to verify licenses, building approvals and adherence to municipal norms. Those found violating the rules were either issued notices or had their premises sealed.

Officials said the anti-encroachment drive would continue in other parts of the city as well, as part of a broader campaign to maintain urban planning norms and ensure public spaces remain free from illegal occupation.

Local residents and shop owners gathered at the site during the operation, while police personnel maintained order and monitored the situation to prevent any clashes or protests.

Civic authorities reiterated that businesses must follow municipal regulations and obtain the required approvals to operate legally, warning that strict action will be taken against violators in the future.
