Belagavi: Police in Belagavi have busted a piece of viral misinformation that falsely claimed members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh attacked the family of an Indian Army officer, Sofia Qureshi.

According to officials, a misleading message circulated widely on social media platforms, accompanied by images of a ransacked house and a photograph of the officer. The post alleged that RSS activists had targeted and attacked her family members.

After verifying the matter, Belagavi police clarified that the claim was completely false and baseless. Authorities confirmed that:

• No such incident had taken place

• The images used were unrelated to the officer or her family

• The message was fabricated to mislead the public
