Belagavi: Police in Belagavi have busted a piece of viral misinformation that falsely claimed members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh attacked the family of an Indian Army officer, Sofia Qureshi.

According to officials, a misleading message circulated widely on social media platforms, accompanied by images of a ransacked house and a photograph of the officer. The post alleged that RSS activists had targeted and attacked her family members.
⚠️ Fake Claim Exposed
After verifying the matter, Belagavi police clarified that the claim was completely false and baseless. Authorities confirmed that:
No such incident had taken place
The images used were unrelated to the officer or her family
The message was fabricated to mislead the public
📸 Misuse of Images
Investigators found that the viral post combined unrelated visuals to create a false narrative. One of the images showed a damaged house, while another featured the officer who had earlier briefed the media during a military operation referred to in the message as “Operation Sindoor.”
Police stated that these images were taken out of context and falsely linked to spread misinformation.
