📰 Bengal Poll Battle Heats Up: Abhishek Banerjee Takes Campaign to Nandigram, Targets Suvendu Adhikari

In a significant political move ahead of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, Abhishek Banerjee, General Secretary of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), intensified his party’s campaign by stepping into Nandigram—considered the stronghold of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari.

Addressing a workers’ meeting in Nandigram, Abhishek Banerjee launched a direct attack on Adhikari and the BJP, signaling TMC’s aggressive intent to reclaim the politically crucial constituency. Nandigram has remained a high-profile battleground in Bengal politics since the 2021 elections, carrying both symbolic and strategic importance.

During his address, Banerjee announced that if the TMC secures victory in Nandigram, the party will organize its flagship Sebaashray camp in the constituency. The initiative is aimed at delivering welfare services directly to people, including healthcare, administrative assistance, and access to government schemes at their doorstep.

“Our focus is on development and people-centric governance. We will ensure that every household in Nandigram benefits from state welfare schemes,” Banerjee said, urging party workers to strengthen grassroots outreach and counter opposition narratives.

He also accused the BJP leadership of neglecting the constituency despite holding political power there, and called upon voters to “choose progress over politics of division.” Banerjee emphasized unity among party cadres and asked them to actively engage with local communities in the run-up to the elections.

Political analysts view Banerjee’s visit as a strategic attempt by the TMC to challenge Suvendu Adhikari on his home turf and regain lost ground. The move is also seen as part of a broader effort to energize party workers and consolidate voter support in key constituencies.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders have dismissed the TMC’s claims, asserting that the people of Nandigram will continue to support Suvendu Adhikari, citing his strong local connect and development initiatives.

With both sides ramping up their campaigns, Nandigram is once again emerging as one of the most closely watched constituencies in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly polls, setting the stage for a high-stakes political showdown.
