Bhopal Tourist Killed in Crash After SUV Hits Family Car in Goa

A 65-year-old tourist from Bhopal lost his life in a tragic road accident in Goa after an SUV allegedly rammed into the car carrying him and his family, police officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagatram Sharma (65), a resident of Bhopal, who was visiting Goa with family members. According to police sources, Sharma sustained critical injuries in the collision and later succumbed despite medical intervention.


How the Accident Occurred

The accident reportedly took place when a Mahindra & Mahindra Thar SUV, driven by Shaurya Goyal, a Delhi resident, collided with one side of the hatchback in which Sharma and his family were travelling.

Preliminary reports suggest that the impact was severe, causing extensive damage to the smaller vehicle and leaving passengers injured. Bystanders rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Sharma dead.


Investigation Underway

Local police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash. Authorities are examining whether overspeeding, rash driving, or negligence played a role in the incident.

The driver of the SUV is being questioned, and officials have stated that appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings of the probe.


Family Members Injured

Other members of Sharma’s family who were in the car reportedly sustained injuries and are receiving treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.
