Chhattisgarh GSDP Projected to Grow 8.11% in 2025-26: Economic Survey

Chhattisgarh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is projected to grow by 8.11% in the financial year 2025-26, according to the State’s Economic Survey. The report highlights steady economic momentum driven by growth in agriculture, industry, and services.

 Economic Survey

As per advance estimates cited in the Survey, the State’s GSDP at constant prices (base year 2011-12) is expected to reach ₹3,58,293 crore in 2025-26, up from ₹3,31,402 crore in FY25. The projected increase reflects sustained economic expansion despite national and global challenges.

The Survey attributes the anticipated growth to improved agricultural output, expansion in mining and industrial activity, and rising contributions from the services sector. Chhattisgarh, known for its mineral wealth and power generation capacity, continues to benefit from infrastructure investments and industrial development initiatives.

Officials noted that the primary sector, particularly agriculture and allied activities, has shown resilience due to supportive government policies, irrigation projects, and procurement mechanisms. Meanwhile, industrial growth has been bolstered by steel, cement, and mining operations.

The services sector, including trade, transport, communication, and public administration, has also recorded steady growth, contributing significantly to overall economic performance.

The Economic Survey underscores the State government’s focus on capital expenditure, rural development, and welfare schemes aimed at boosting consumption and employment. It also highlights efforts to strengthen fiscal discipline while maintaining investment in infrastructure and social sectors.

With an 8.11% projected growth rate, Chhattisgarh is expected to remain among the faster-growing States in the country for 2025-26, reflecting a positive economic outlook and continued development momentum.
