At least five people were killed and several others injured after a double-decker bus carrying more than 80 passengers met with a serious accident in Uttar Pradesh, officials confirmed.

According to authorities, the bus was travelling from Ludhiana to Motihari when the accident occurred. Officials stated that approximately 80 to 85 passengers were onboard at the time of the crash.

Preliminary reports suggest the vehicle lost control before crashing, though the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.


Casualties and Rescue Operation

Five passengers were declared dead at the scene, while many others sustained injuries of varying severity. Emergency services and local police rushed to the spot soon after receiving information.

Rescue teams worked to extricate trapped passengers from the damaged vehicle. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, with some reported to be in critical condition.
