Focus on Medicinal Plant Conservation

President Murmu highlighted that India’s biodiversity is a valuable national asset and called upon educational institutions, research bodies, and local communities to actively participate in conserving medicinal plant species. She noted that many traditional remedies are rooted in centuries-old wisdom and continue to hold relevance in contemporary healthcare.

She encouraged youth and farmers to explore cultivation of medicinal plants as both a health initiative and a sustainable livelihood opportunity.

Free Health Services for Public

The National Health Fair will remain open for public participation over the coming days. It features free health check-ups, diagnostic services, and consultations by renowned expert doctors from across the country.

Specialised medical camps covering cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and general medicine have been set up to provide accessible healthcare services, particularly to rural and semi-urban populations.

Promoting Preventive Healthcare

The President underscored the need for preventive healthcare and early diagnosis, stating that awareness and timely intervention can significantly reduce the burden of serious illnesses. She praised the organisers for bringing together medical experts, traditional healers, and healthcare institutions under one platform.

Community Participation Encouraged

Organisers said the fair also includes exhibitions on Ayurveda, yoga sessions, awareness workshops, and interactive sessions on nutrition and lifestyle diseases. Local residents have been encouraged to participate in large numbers to benefit from the free services.

The event reflects a broader push toward accessible healthcare and sustainable wellness practices, blending modern medical science with India’s traditional medicinal heritage.
