A shocking case of impersonation and robbery has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh, where a gang posing as Income Tax officials looted a contractor of valuables during a fake raid.

🏠 Fake Raid at Contractor’s House
According to police, the incident took place when a group of seven to eight individuals arrived at the contractor’s residence in a white SUV without a number plate. Claiming to be officials from the Income Tax Department, they said they had received a tip-off about black money being stored at the premises.
🎭 Posing as Officials
The accused convincingly carried out a fake “search operation”, behaving like real officers:
They questioned the contractor and family members
Conducted a thorough “inspection” of the house
Created an atmosphere of fear and urgency
Under the guise of official investigation, they gained the family’s trust and control over the situation.
💰 Gold and Cash Looted
During the so-called raid, the gang looted gold jewellery and cash from the house and fled the scene. The exact value of the stolen items is still being assessed, but it is believed to be substantial.
🚔 Police Investigation Underway
Once the family realised they had been duped, they approached the police. Authorities have:
Registered a case of robbery and impersonation
Launched a manhunt for the accused
Begun analysing CCTV footage from nearby areas
Police suspect the gang may be part of an organised criminal network targeting individuals under the pretext of enforcement raids.
⚠️ Public Advisory
Officials have urged citizens to remain cautious and:
Always verify the identity of officials before allowing entry
Ask for proper documentation and authorisation
Inform local police if suspicious activity is noticed
