First English Medium Playschool Opens in Rajasthan Village, Set to Transform Early Education for Rural Children

Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan):In a major boost to rural education, the first English medium playschool has been inaugurated in the small village of Lambi-Sahad in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district. The initiative aims to provide quality early childhood education and English language exposure to children from rural communities, helping bridge the learning gap between urban and village students.

The playschool has been opened on the campus of Shaheed Suresh Singh Government Senior Secondary School in Lambi-Sahad, which falls under the Lambi-Ahir village panchayat. Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar formally inaugurated the facility earlier this week, calling it an important step towards strengthening the state’s foundational education system.

Focus on Early Learning and English Exposure

Designed especially for young children from nearby villages, the English medium playschool will focus on foundational learning through activity-based teaching methods. Officials said the curriculum will emphasize basic English communication skills, cognitive development, social interaction, and creative learning, ensuring children are better prepared for primary education.

Transportation and Inclusive Access

To ensure maximum participation, the playschool has been equipped with a transportation facility, enabling children from surrounding rural areas to attend regularly. The initiative also focuses on inclusive access, making early education available to children from economically weaker sections who otherwise have limited exposure to English medium schooling.

Bridging the Urban-Rural Education Gap

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Madan Dilawar said that starting English medium education at the playschool level in villages would help rural children gain confidence and compete equally with their urban counterparts in the future. He added that such initiatives align with the state government’s vision of improving education quality in rural Rajasthan.

Local residents and parents welcomed the move, expressing hope that the playschool would open new learning opportunities for their children and strengthen the overall education ecosystem in the region.

A Model for Other Villages

Education department officials said the Lambi-Sahad playschool could serve as a model for similar initiatives across Rajasthan, especially in remote and rural areas, where access to quality early education remains limited.
