The accused were produced before the magistrate after their arrest in the alleged firing case that recently sent shockwaves through the film industry. Police sought custody, stating that further interrogation was necessary to ascertain the motive behind the incident and to determine whether the act was part of a larger conspiracy.

According to investigators, the firing incident occurred earlier this month, prompting an immediate probe by city police. While no injuries were reported, the incident raised serious concerns about the safety of high-profile personalities.

During the court hearing, the prosecution argued that custodial interrogation was essential to recover weapons, trace the source of firearms, and identify any additional persons involved. The defence, however, opposed extended custody.

After hearing both sides, the court granted police remand of the five accused till February to facilitate further investigation.

Police officials said they are examining call records, CCTV footage, and other digital evidence to piece together the sequence of events. They are also probing whether the accused had prior criminal records and if any financial or personal disputes were linked to the case.

Authorities have assured that stringent action will be taken against those found guilty. Meanwhile, security around Rohit Shetty has reportedly been reviewed as a precautionary measure.

Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
