Four Killed as Bus Overturns on NH-44 in Nizamabad District

At least four people lost their lives after a passenger bus overturned on National Highway 44 in Nizamabad district, police said. The accident occurred when the bus reportedly lost control and overturned on the highway, causing panic among passengers.

According to officials, several passengers sustained injuries in the crash and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Emergency services and local residents quickly reached the spot to assist in rescue operations and help the injured.


The deceased have been identified as Manjusha (30) and her seven-year-old son Rishi. Another victim, Abbas (40), was also identified by authorities. However, the identity of the fourth male victim had not been established at the time of reporting.


Police said the bus was carrying multiple passengers and was travelling through the district when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the overturning. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed, though officials suspect that overspeeding or a sudden maneuver may have contributed to the crash.


Authorities from the local police station in Nizamabad registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials are also examining the condition of the vehicle and questioning the driver to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.


The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination, while injured passengers continue to receive treatment. Police are also working to identify the fourth victim and inform the relatives.
