📰 Fuel Tanker Overturns, Catches Fire in Rajasthan’s Jalore; One Dead

Jalore: A major accident occurred in Jalore after a fuel tanker belonging to Bharat Petroleum overturned on a highway and caught fire, leaving one person dead and triggering panic in the surrounding area.

According to officials, the incident took place when the tanker, reportedly carrying petroleum products, lost control and overturned on the road. Within moments, the vehicle burst into flames, with thick plumes of smoke rising high into the sky, visible from a considerable distance.

The intensity of the fire made rescue operations extremely challenging. Local residents and passersby immediately alerted emergency services, following which fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. It took several hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

One person, believed to be associated with the tanker, lost their life in the incident. Authorities are working to confirm the identity of the deceased. There are also reports that a few others sustained minor injuries while trying to move away from the accident site.

As a precautionary measure, traffic on the highway was temporarily halted and diverted to prevent further casualties, as fears of an explosion loomed due to the highly flammable nature of the cargo.

Police officials stated that preliminary investigations suggest the accident may have been caused by overspeeding or loss of control, though the exact reason is yet to be determined. A detailed probe has been initiated.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the transportation of hazardous materials on busy highways, with authorities urging stricter compliance with safety norms to prevent such tragedies in the future.
