📰 Governors Should Examine Bills Within Reasonable Time, Says Goa Governor

Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said that Governors should examine and decide on Bills passed by State legislatures within a reasonable period of time, emphasising the importance of timely action in the legislative process.

The Goa Governor made the remarks while interacting with a group of journalists from Kerala who visited the Raj Bhavan during a press tour. The interaction took place at Lok Bhavan in Panjim last week.

During the discussion, Governor Raju spoke about the constitutional responsibilities of Governors in relation to Bills passed by State legislatures. He said that while Governors have the authority to review, return, or reserve Bills for the President’s consideration, it is important that such decisions are not unnecessarily delayed.
