The move is aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure in areas where conventional telecom networks remain limited or unreliable. Officials said the initiative forms part of Gujarat’s broader Digital Connectivity Mission and aligns with strategic efforts to bridge the digital divide.

📡 Expanding Connectivity to Remote Regions

According to an official release, the collaboration seeks to deliver high-speed internet access through satellite technology, particularly in geographically challenging and sparsely populated areas. These include border villages and remote tribal regions where laying fibre-optic cables or installing traditional telecom towers is often difficult and costly.

By leveraging low-Earth orbit satellite networks, the state aims to ensure reliable connectivity for education, healthcare, governance, and local businesses.

🌐 Part of Digital Connectivity Mission

The agreement is part of Gujarat’s push to enhance digital inclusion under its Digital Connectivity Mission. Authorities said improved internet infrastructure would support e-governance initiatives, online education platforms, telemedicine services, and digital financial transactions.

Officials also highlighted that better connectivity in border areas would enhance communication access and support strategic development initiatives.
