Gurugram: Teen Rescued After Alleged Assault by Live-In Partner; FIR Registered

A teenage woman was rescued in Gurugram after her mother alleged that the girl had been held captive, sexually assaulted, and subjected to repeated violence by her live-in partner. Police have registered an FIR based on the victim’s statement and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Victim’s Mother Raised Alarm

According to the complaint, the young woman, originally from Tripura, had been living with the accused in Gurugram. Her mother stated that on the night of February 19, her daughter called her in distress and claimed that her boyfriend was threatening to kill her.

Alarmed by the call, the mother immediately contacted local police authorities in Gurugram, seeking urgent intervention.


Police Rescue Operation

Police officials confirmed that a team was dispatched to the location mentioned by the complainant. The victim was rescued and provided medical assistance. She later recorded her statement, based on which a First Information Report (FIR) was filed.

Authorities said the accused has been identified as Shivam. Efforts are underway to apprehend him.


Allegations in FIR

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly entered into a physical relationship with the victim under the pretext of marriage. The complaint further alleges that he repeatedly assaulted her, physically abused her, and subjected her to violence during the course of their live-in relationship.

Police stated that relevant sections pertaining to sexual assault, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and physical violence have been invoked.


Investigation Underway

Officials said the victim’s medical examination has been conducted and statements are being recorded. The case is under investigation, and authorities are examining digital evidence and witness accounts to corroborate the allegations.

Police have assured strict action as per law if the allegations are substantiated.


The incident has once again raised concerns over safety and legal protections in cases involving live-in relationships and violence against women.
