India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has etched her name in the record books by becoming the highest-capped woman in international cricket, marking another milestone in an illustrious career that began in 2009.

With her latest appearance for the India women's national cricket team, Harmanpreet surpassed the previous record to stand alone at the top in terms of total international matches played in women’s cricket.


Since making her debut in 2009, Harmanpreet has represented India in six Test matches, 161 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 189 T20 Internationals (T20Is), showcasing remarkable consistency and longevity across formats. Known for her aggressive batting style and fearless leadership, she has been a central figure in India’s rise in women’s cricket over the past decade and a half.


One of the defining moments of her career came during the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup, when her explosive 171* against Australia in the semifinals became one of the most iconic knocks in the history of the women’s game. Over the years, she has also led India in multiple ICC tournaments, guiding the team to finals and semifinals on the global stage.
