Heatwave Likely in Parts of Maharashtra; Rain Forecast in Three Divisions

Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heatwave conditions in several parts of Maharashtra, while rainfall is expected in three divisions of the state due to changing weather patterns.

According to IMD officials, the weather conditions are being influenced by a cyclonic circulation over South Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh. In addition, a trough line passing through Vidarbha is also affecting the atmospheric conditions across parts of central and western India.

Meteorologists said that due to these systems, temperatures are likely to rise significantly in several districts, especially in interior regions of Maharashtra. Some areas may experience heatwave-like conditions with temperatures crossing 38–40°C, prompting authorities to advise residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

At the same time, the changing weather pattern may bring light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms in three divisions of the state, particularly in Vidarbha, Marathwada, and parts of Konkan. These showers could provide temporary relief from the intense heat in some areas.

Weather experts explained that the interaction between the cyclonic circulation and the trough line is creating unstable atmospheric conditions, leading to both rising temperatures and chances of scattered rainfall.

The IMD has advised people, especially the elderly and children, to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, stay hydrated, and follow heat safety measures during the peak afternoon hours.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further updates or advisories may be issued depending on how the weather system develops over the next few days. 🌡️🌧️
