According to university sources, the confrontation broke out between two groups of students during a protest over administrative and academic issues. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in physical scuffles. Two faculty members who allegedly attempted to intervene and calm the situation sustained injuries, along with a few students. The injured were provided medical assistance, and their condition is stated to be stable.

In an official statement, the university administration appealed for calm and urged students to maintain restraint. “Students are requested to avoid provocation and engage in peaceful and democratic academic processes,” the statement said. The authorities emphasized that the campus should remain a space for constructive dialogue and academic pursuits, not conflict.

To ascertain the sequence of events and identify those responsible, the university has set up a probe panel comprising senior faculty members and administrative officials. The committee has been tasked with submitting a detailed report within a stipulated time frame, recommending appropriate disciplinary action if necessary.

University officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. They also appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with the investigation and help restore normalcy on campus.
