Jaipur–Delhi Route Set for Major Relief: Faster Travel on NH-48 Expected Soon

Jaipur/New Delhi: Commuters travelling between Jaipur and Delhi are set to get significant relief as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has targeted March 31 for completing six under-construction flyovers and bridges along National Highway 48.

Jaipur–Delhi

The Jaipur–Delhi stretch of NH-48 is one of the busiest highway corridors in North India, witnessing heavy daily traffic of passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and interstate buses. Ongoing construction work at multiple points has been causing congestion and longer travel times.

Six Key Structures Nearing Completion

According to officials, work is progressing rapidly on six flyovers and bridges aimed at easing bottlenecks and improving traffic flow. Once operational, these structures are expected to eliminate traffic signals and reduce delays at critical junctions.

The upgrades are part of a broader effort to modernise the highway and enhance safety standards, particularly in high-traffic zones prone to accidents and traffic snarls.

Travel Time Likely to Reduce

At present, the journey between Jaipur and Delhi can take anywhere between 4.5 to 6 hours depending on congestion levels. With the completion of the pending structures, travel time is expected to reduce significantly, especially during peak hours and festive seasons.

Officials said smoother vehicular movement will also benefit commercial transporters by cutting fuel consumption and operational costs.

Boost to Regional Connectivity

The NH-48 corridor plays a vital role in connecting Rajasthan to the National Capital Region (NCR). Improved infrastructure is expected to strengthen economic ties, boost tourism, and facilitate faster movement of goods.

Local businesses and daily commuters have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the March 31 deadline will be met without further delays.

Safety and Infrastructure Upgrade

NHAI has stated that alongside flyovers and bridges, additional measures such as improved signage, road markings, and safety barriers are being implemented to enhance overall road safety.

If completed on schedule, the upgraded Jaipur–Delhi stretch of NH-48 will provide a smoother and more efficient travel experience for thousands of commuters who use the route every day.

Further updates are expected as construction nears its final phase.
