According to police officials, the body was recovered near the Beko-Karipahari forest area under the jurisdiction of Bagodar Police Station. The identification was made after the woman’s relatives came forward.

Saraiya-Bagodar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dhananjay Kumar said that the deceased woman’s father, Tahul Ansari, a resident of Lakshman Tunda village under Nimiaghat police station, identified the body as that of his daughter.

“The father has accused the woman’s husband and in-laws of killing his daughter over dowry demands and then burning the body to conceal the crime,” SDPO Kumar said, adding that a formal complaint has been registered.

Police officials stated that the incident is believed to have occurred around three days ago, and investigators are currently working to establish the exact sequence of events. “We are probing the case from all possible angles and attempting to identify and apprehend the main accused,” a senior police source in Giridih said.

Following the recovery of the body, a multi-disciplinary investigation team was deployed at the spot. Experts from the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL), Ranchi, along with fingerprint experts, forensic and technical teams, an e-evidence unit, and a dog squad, reached the scene to collect crucial evidence.

The police said further action will be taken based on forensic reports and witness statements as the investigation progresses.
