In an emotional reunion, a man from Jharkhand was finally reunited with his mother after more than two decades and took her home from a shelter in Kolkata.

Reunites With Mother

A Long Separation

Sushila Murmu had left her village in Jharkhand over 20 years ago following the death of her husband. Facing difficult circumstances, she eventually moved away from her hometown and lost contact with her family. During this period, she also converted to Christianity and began living separately from her relatives.

Over the years, her whereabouts remained unknown to her family, and her son continued searching for her.

Found in a Shelter Home

Recently, Sushila Murmu was staying at a shelter home in south Kolkata, where authorities had been taking care of her. Information about her reached her family, prompting her son to travel to the city in hopes of finding her.

On Friday morning, her son Madan Besra arrived at the shelter home and finally met his mother after decades of separation.

Emotional Reunion

The meeting between mother and son was deeply emotional, with both reportedly overwhelmed after seeing each other again after such a long time. Staff members at the shelter said the reunion was a touching moment for everyone present.

Returning Home

After completing necessary formalities, Madan Besra took his mother back home to Jharkhand, bringing an end to a separation that had lasted more than two decades.

Local authorities and shelter home officials expressed happiness that the family could finally reunite, calling it a heartwarming moment of hope and reconciliation after years of uncertainty.
