Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall across parts of Gujarat between March 18 and 20, bringing possible relief from the prevailing heat in several regions.

According to the Met department, changing weather conditions due to atmospheric disturbances are expected to trigger scattered showers in multiple districts, accompanied by cloudy skies and a slight dip in temperatures.

Despite the rain forecast, temperatures across Gujarat remained relatively high on Tuesday, indicating persistent warm conditions ahead of the expected showers.

Key temperature readings recorded include:

  • Ahmedabad – 36.7°C

  • Deesa – 37.2°C

  • Bhuj – 37°C

  • Gandhinagar – 36.5°C

  • Vadodara – 36°C

  • Kandla – 34.7°C

  • Bhavnagar – 34.6°C

  • Naliya – 33.6°C

  • Surat – 32.9°C

  • Porbandar – 31.4°C

Meteorologists indicate that the incoming rain may bring temporary cooling, though humidity levels could rise in coastal areas. Winds and cloud cover are also expected to increase during this period.
