Harshavardhan Sapkal, president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, strongly condemned the incident, calling it a serious breach of public trust. “It is shocking to see such unethical behaviour of a public representative in whom people have invested their faith and money,” Sapkal said while addressing the media.

The Congress leader alleged that the video raises serious questions about the conduct and integrity of those holding public office. He insisted that the minister concerned should step down immediately to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry.

The controversy has intensified political tensions in the state, with Opposition parties accusing the ruling alliance of failing to uphold ethical standards in governance. Congress leaders have also demanded that the government clarify its position and take swift action against the minister if the allegations are proven.

Meanwhile, leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party have either dismissed the allegations or refrained from making detailed comments, stating that the authenticity of the video needs to be verified before drawing conclusions.

Sources indicate that the government may seek a report on the matter, while legal and administrative options are being explored depending on the findings of any inquiry.

Political analysts say the issue could have wider implications, especially with growing scrutiny on the conduct of elected representatives and increasing public demand for accountability.

As the controversy unfolds, all eyes are now on the state government’s response and whether any disciplinary action will be taken against the minister at the centre of the row.
