According to police sources, the accused allegedly developed contact with the girl and later began blackmailing her by claiming he would inform her family about their supposed relationship. Taking advantage of the girl’s fear and vulnerability, he allegedly demanded money from her repeatedly.

Investigators said the accused forced the teenager to arrange money on several occasions, ultimately extracting a total of ₹50,000 from her. The girl reportedly gave the money in installments, fearing social repercussions if the matter was revealed to her parents.

The situation came to light after the girl finally confided in her family members about the harassment and threats she had been facing. Her parents then approached the local police and filed a complaint against the man.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Officers soon traced the accused and arrested him on charges of molestation, criminal intimidation, and extortion.

Authorities said the accused had also threatened the girl with serious consequences if she refused to pay him, which further pressured her into giving the money.

Police officials confirmed that the teenager is currently safe and that her statement has been recorded as part of the investigation. The accused is being questioned to determine whether similar offences may have been committed against other victims.

Legal action has been initiated under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and child protection laws, and the accused is expected to be produced before a court.
