Man allegedly pours acid on daughter-in-law in Hanumangarh district; case registered

Hanumangarh (Rajasthan): A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, where a man allegedly poured acid on his daughter-in-law following a domestic dispute, police said.

According to officials, the incident occurred after an argument broke out within the family over household matters. During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked the woman by throwing acid on her, causing serious burn injuries.

Victim hospitalised

The injured woman was immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital and later referred to a higher medical centre due to the severity of her burns. Doctors said she sustained significant injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions related to acid attacks. The accused has been identified, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.

The Rajasthan Police confirmed that statements of family members and neighbours are being recorded as part of the investigation. Forensic teams are also examining the scene to collect evidence.
