🔴 Man Detained in Kota for Allegedly Threatening to Shoot Rahul Gandhi and Other Congress MPs

Kota, Rajasthan — A man has been detained in Kota after allegedly issuing threats to shoot senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other Members of Parliament from the party, police officials said on Saturday.

According to Tejaswani Gautam, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kota, the police took suo motu action after becoming aware of the threatening communication and swiftly moved to detain the accused.

🚨 Threat Allegedly Issued

Police sources said the accused allegedly made threatening remarks targeting Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs. The nature of the threat prompted immediate attention from local law enforcement agencies.

Although officials have not publicly disclosed the exact platform or medium through which the threat was conveyed, they confirmed that the message was considered serious enough to warrant prompt intervention.


👮 Swift Police Action

SP Tejaswani Gautam told PTI that the police:

  • Took suo motu cognisance of the matter.

  • Identified and traced the individual.

  • Detained him at the Borkheda police station in Kota for questioning.

“The accused has been detained and is being interrogated. Appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings of the investigation,” the SP said.

Authorities are verifying whether the individual acted alone or had any affiliations that may raise broader security concerns.

Police are currently examining:

  • The intent behind the threat.

  • The accused’s background and possible criminal history.

  • Whether the threat was made impulsively or as part of a larger plan.

  • Digital devices and communication records for evidence.

A case is expected to be registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to criminal intimidation and threats against public representatives.
