Man Shoots Deputy Forest Ranger, Woman, Then Dies by Suicide in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen

In a tragic incident in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh, a man allegedly shot a Deputy Forest Ranger and a woman before hanging himself, police said. The shocking sequence of events has left the local community stunned.

The accused has been identified as Puran alias Gudda Lodhi. According to officials, he had reportedly been dismissed from a forest department nursery several years ago and is believed to have harboured resentment since then.

Shooting at Forest Nursery

The incident took place at a forest nursery in Raisen. Preliminary investigation suggests that Lodhi arrived at the premises armed with a firearm and opened fire on the Deputy Forest Ranger. A woman present at the location was also shot during the attack.

Both victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities are yet to confirm their latest medical condition.

Accused Found Hanging

After the shooting, Lodhi reportedly fled the immediate scene. A search operation was launched, and shortly thereafter, he was found hanging. Police believe he died by suicide.
