🌍 Mild Earthquake Tremors Felt in Rajasthan’s Sikar; No Damage Reported

Jaipur: Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Sikar district of Rajasthan early in the morning, causing brief concern among residents though no damage or injuries were reported.

Rajasthan’s Sikar

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake measured 3.5 on the Richter scale and occurred at around 6:32 a.m. The epicentre was located near the Sikar region at a shallow depth of about 5 kilometres beneath the Earth’s surface, which allowed the tremors to be felt in nearby localities.

Residents in Ranoli and surrounding areas reported feeling the ground shake briefly. Some locals said doors and windows rattled for a few seconds, while others stepped outside their homes as a precaution after sensing the tremor.

The mild quake also caused momentary panic in neighbouring areas such as Khatushyamji, Palsana, and Dhingpur, where people reported vibrations lasting about one to two seconds. However, officials confirmed that no casualties or structural damage were reported following the seismic activity.

Local administration and disaster management authorities monitored the situation but did not issue any emergency alerts as the earthquake was low in intensity. Experts say earthquakes below magnitude 4 are generally considered minor and rarely cause serious damage.

Authorities have advised residents to remain calm and follow standard safety precautions during such events. Seismologists continue to monitor the region for any possible aftershocks, though none have been reported so far.

The incident serves as a reminder that parts of northern India, including Rajasthan, occasionally experience low-intensity seismic activity, even though major earthquakes in the region are relatively rare. 🌍
