One Held for Objectionable Social Media Post on PM in Uttar Pradesh

Jehanabad (U.P.): A युवक was arrested for allegedly posting objectionable content about the Prime Minister on social media, police said on Tuesday.

According to Pradeep Vishnoi, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jehanabad police station, the action was taken following a formal complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Gyan Chand.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and provisions related to promoting enmity and spreading objectionable content online.

The accused has been identified as Arbaaz, a resident of Vishen village. Police said the post allegedly contained remarks deemed inappropriate and offensive.


Investigation and Arrest

Officials stated that after verifying the social media account and tracing digital evidence, the youth was taken into custody for questioning. His mobile phone has been seized for forensic examination.

“We received a complaint and after preliminary verification, a case was registered. Further legal action is being taken as per the law,” SHO Pradeep Vishnoi told reporters.


Ongoing Probe

Authorities are examining whether the content was shared widely or reposted by others. Police have also appealed to the public to use social media responsibly and avoid posting content that may violate legal provisions.


Further investigation is underway.
