Pregnant SWAT Commando Case Shocks Delhi: Husband Held for Brutal Murder

New Delhi: A shocking case of domestic violence has surfaced in the national capital, where a 27-year-old Delhi Police SWAT commando, who was four months pregnant, died after being brutally assaulted by her husband with a heavy dumbbell. The incident has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns over domestic abuse and dowry harassment.

The victim, identified as Kajal Chaudhary, was allegedly attacked by her husband Ankur, a clerk working in the Ministry of Defence, on January 22 following repeated arguments over financial issues. According to police sources, the altercation turned violent, and Ankur reportedly struck Kajal on the head with a dumbbell, causing severe injuries.

Kajal’s brother Nikhil, who is a constable posted at the Parliament Street Police Station, revealed that his sister had called him during the incident. While he was on the call, he heard Ankur attacking her. Shortly after the assault, Ankur reportedly informed him that he had hit Kajal.

Kajal was rushed to a hospital with critical head injuries, but she succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Tuesday.


Dowry Harassment Allegations

Nikhil further alleged that Kajal had been subjected to continuous dowry-related harassment by her husband, mother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. It was also reported that Ankur had taken money from Kajal’s parents, adding to the family's allegations of financial exploitation and abuse.


Dowry Harassment Allegations Surface in Delhi SWAT Commando Murder Case

Following the complaint, police registered a murder case against Ankur, who has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Authorities are also investigating the role of other family members in the alleged harassment.
