Rajasthan High Court receives hoax bomb threat for second consecutive day

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court received a bomb threat for the second consecutive day, prompting heightened security measures and temporary disruption of court proceedings. Officials later confirmed that the threat was a hoax, as no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the search operation.

According to police sources, the threat was received via email, triggering an immediate response from security agencies. The court premises were partially evacuated as a precautionary measure, and bomb disposal squads, along with sniffer dog units, conducted a thorough search of the building.

Proceedings delayed

While nothing alarming was recovered, the security drill caused delays in scheduled hearings. Several benches began proceedings later than usual due to the time taken to complete the sanitisation process.

Court officials said safety protocols were followed strictly to ensure the protection of judges, lawyers, staff and litigants.

Investigation underway

The Rajasthan Police has launched an investigation to trace the origin of the threat email. Cybercrime teams are analysing digital footprints to identify the sender.

Authorities are also examining whether the threats received on consecutive days are linked and if they were intended to disrupt judicial functioning.

Heightened security

Security has been tightened in and around the High Court premises, with additional personnel deployed as a precaution. Entry checks have been intensified, and surveillance systems are being closely monitored.

Officials have urged the public not to panic and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent any disruption to judicial work.
