According to district authorities, the premises was officially registered as a garment manufacturing unit, but firecrackers were allegedly being produced inside without the required licences or safety clearances. The blaze is suspected to have been triggered during the handling of explosive materials, leading to a rapid spread of flames.

Victims and rescue operations

Fire department personnel and local police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the explosion and fire. Rescue workers faced difficulties due to the intensity of the blaze and the presence of combustible materials inside the building.

Officials confirmed that some of the deceased workers were migrant labourers from Bihar. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and identification procedures are underway in coordination with family members.

Several injured workers are undergoing treatment, with some reported to be in critical condition.

Chief Minister orders investigation

Rajasthan Chief Minister expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed officials to conduct a detailed investigation into the incident. Authorities have been asked to determine how the illegal activity was being carried out under the guise of a garment factory and whether there was any negligence or complicity on the part of local officials.

The administration has also announced compensation for the families of the deceased and assured strict action against those found responsible.

Legal action initiated

Police have registered a case and begun questioning the factory owner and other persons linked to the unit. Preliminary findings suggest serious violations of safety norms and explosives regulations.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted concerns over illegal firecracker manufacturing units operating without proper oversight, particularly in residential or industrial areas lacking adequate safety infrastructure.
