Shots Fired at Car of Lawyer Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi in Delhi; One Injured

New Delhi: A lawyer reportedly linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was targeted in a firing incident in West Delhi on Tuesday evening, leaving one person injured, police officials said.

According to authorities, the incident occurred when unidentified assailants opened fire at a moving car in which the lawyer and others were travelling. The injured individual, who was seated inside the vehicle at the time of the attack, sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is reported to be stable.

Attack Details

As per the occupants of the car, three attackers arrived on a motorcycle and began firing indiscriminately at their vehicle before fleeing the scene. Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, creating panic in the area.

Preliminary investigation suggests that several rounds were fired, with bullets damaging the car’s windows and body. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and cordoned off the area.

Probe Underway

Forensic teams collected empty cartridges from the scene, and CCTV footage from nearby establishments is being examined to identify the suspects and trace their escape route.

A senior police official said that while the lawyer is believed to have professional links to cases involving Lawrence Bishnoi, the exact motive behind the attack is still under investigation. Authorities are probing whether the incident is connected to ongoing gang rivalries or related to any specific case.

Security Concerns

The firing has raised fresh concerns about the activities of organized crime networks operating from behind bars and their potential influence outside prison.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections pertaining to attempt to murder and illegal possession of firearms. Multiple teams have been formed to track down the assailants.
