Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Rene Piil Pedersen, Managing Director of AP Moller-Maersk, in Lucknow on Monday, February 2, 2026, to discuss new investment opportunities and future expansion plans in the state. Mr. Pedersen was accompanied by Vivek Sharma, Head of Business Development and Regulatory Affairs for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening logistics infrastructure, improving supply chain efficiency, and exploring opportunities in multimodal logistics parks, inland container depots, warehousing, and integrated transport solutions. The Maersk delegation highlighted the company’s interest in leveraging Uttar Pradesh’s strategic location, growing industrial base, and improving connectivity to expand its footprint.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment and providing all necessary support to global investors. He highlighted recent reforms, improved law and order, and large-scale infrastructure projects, including expressways, freight corridors, and industrial corridors, which have made the state an attractive destination for foreign direct investment.

AP Moller-Maersk has been investing in Uttar Pradesh for over two decades and already operates logistics and supply chain services in the state. The proposed expansion is expected to boost employment, enhance export competitiveness, and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s role as a key logistics hub in North India.

Officials said the state government will continue to engage with the company to facilitate faster clearances and policy support, aligning with Uttar Pradesh’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy and a major driver of India’s logistics and manufacturing growth.
