Tea Seller Shot at in Ahmedabad Days After Argument; Three Booked

Ahmedabad: A tea seller was allegedly shot at in Ahmedabad a few days after he had an argument with a group of men, police said on Saturday. The victim, identified as Muddassar Ahmedkhan Mansoor Ahmedkhan Pathan, sustained a gunshot injury to his right foot.

According to officials, the incident took place in the Vejalpur area late in the evening when unidentified assailants approached Pathan and opened fire. The bullet struck his right foot, causing him to collapse on the spot. Local residents rushed to his aid and immediately shifted him to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment.


Complaint Filed Under Treatment

While undergoing medical care, Pathan filed a formal complaint at the Vejalpur Police Station, detailing the sequence of events and naming three individuals with whom he had reportedly had a dispute days earlier.

Police said the earlier argument is suspected to be the motive behind the attack. The accused allegedly threatened him during the altercation, and investigators are probing whether the shooting was a pre-planned act of retaliation.


Three Booked, Probe On

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against three persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused.

Investigators are also scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and recording statements of eyewitnesses to reconstruct the exact sequence of events. Officials confirmed that the victim is currently out of danger and recovering.


The incident has raised concerns about rising disputes turning violent, prompting police to increase patrolling in the locality. Authorities assured that strict action will be taken against those involved once they are arrested.
