Incident Inside Jail

According to jail authorities, the incident occurred during routine hours when a fellow inmate allegedly attacked Rehman inside the prison premises. Officials said prison staff intervened immediately after noticing the altercation and rushed him for medical attention. However, he was declared dead.

The accused inmate has been taken into custody, and a separate case of murder has been registered. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack and whether it was a result of a personal dispute or linked to other factors.

Security and Investigation

Senior police officers stated that CCTV footage from inside the jail is being examined, and statements of other inmates and prison staff are being recorded. Authorities are also reviewing security protocols to determine if there were any lapses.

The jail administration has ordered an internal inquiry into the circumstances leading to the killing. Meanwhile, Rehman’s family has been informed about the incident.

Background of the Case

Rehman had been arrested on allegations of planning a terror strike targeting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Investigators had earlier stated that he was allegedly involved in reconnaissance activities around the shrine and had explosives in his possession at the time of arrest. The case was under investigation, and he was lodged in Faridabad jail as an undertrial.

Further investigation into the jail murder is ongoing, with officials promising strict action against those found responsible.
