Three Sisters, Aged 12, 14 and 16, Jump to Death from 9th Floor in Ghaziabad; Online Korean Gaming Task Under Probe

In a tragic incident that has shocked Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, three sisters aged 12, 14 and 16 allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the ninth floor of their residential apartment in the early hours of Wednesday. Police suspect that the girls may have been influenced by an online Korean task-based game, though investigations are still underway.

The incident occurred around 2.15 am at a high-rise apartment complex in Bharat City, Ghaziabad. The victims have been identified as Pakhi (12), Prachi (14), and Vishika (16), daughters of Chetan Kumar. According to police, the sisters left behind a handwritten note that read, “Sorry, Papa.”

Preliminary investigation revealed that the three siblings were extremely close and reportedly did everything together, including studying, eating, bathing, sleeping, and other daily activities. Police sources said the girls were allegedly obsessed with an online task-based game of Korean origin, which is now being examined as a possible factor behind the incident.

Officials said that during the night, the sisters went to the balcony of their apartment, bolted the door from inside, and jumped one after another. Their screams and the sound alerted family members, neighbours, and security guards, who rushed to the spot. However, by the time the parents managed to break open the balcony door, the girls had already succumbed to their injuries.

“When we reached the scene, we confirmed that three girls, daughters of Chetan Kumar, had died after jumping from the building,” said Atul Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police. He added that the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination and a detailed investigation has been initiated.

Visuals from the scene showed the devastated mother crying inconsolably, while shocked residents gathered at the apartment complex. Police have seized the suicide note and electronic devices belonging to the girls to examine their online activity and determine whether any external influence or coercion was involved.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about online gaming addiction, especially among minors, and the need for greater parental awareness and mental health support for children and teenagers.

Police said further investigation is ongoing, and counselling support is being arranged for the grieving family.
