Request to Revoke NOC Suspension

During the meeting, Gurmeet Singh urged the government to revoke the suspension of the NOC, stating that the society was fully cooperating with regulatory authorities. He assured that all necessary information would be provided within the stipulated timeframe.

Singh also appealed to depositors not to panic, emphasising that the society’s operations and finances were being clarified through official channels.

Minister’s Response

Responding to the concerns raised, Minister Subhash Shirodkar said that the matter has been referred to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS). He confirmed that the RCS will scrutinise the documents submitted by the Tirumalla Tirupati Co-Op and submit a detailed report next week.

“The government will take an appropriate decision only after examining the facts placed before the Registrar,” the minister said.

Depositors on Edge

The suspension of the society’s NOC had triggered uncertainty and anxiety among depositors, many of whom depend on the cooperative for savings and credit. Officials acknowledged that the review process is being expedited to ensure transparency and protect depositors’ interests.

Regulatory Scrutiny Continues

Authorities said the review aims to verify compliance with cooperative laws, financial norms, and operational guidelines applicable to multistate cooperative credit societies. Any further action will depend on the findings of the RCS report.
