Trump made the remarks during a media interaction while addressing rumours that the 56-year-old cleric may have been critically injured in strikes that reportedly targeted key Iranian leadership locations earlier in the conflict. According to Trump, intelligence assessments suggest that Khamenei is “probably alive but damaged.” 

The uncertainty surrounding Khamenei’s condition comes after unconfirmed reports claimed he suffered **severe injuries during the strikes that killed his father, former Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
