‘Tune Tamaasha Kiya’: Anupam Mittal Slams Pitcher on Shark Tank India; Aman Gupta Says ‘AI Will Replace You’

The latest episode of Shark Tank India witnessed high drama after entrepreneur Anupam Mittal lost his cool at a startup founder, accusing him of turning his pitch into a “tamaasha” instead of a serious business presentation. The heated exchange left the other Sharks visibly surprised and the pitcher struggling to defend his strategy.

Anupam Mittal

‘Tune Tamaasha Kiya’

The founder, who entered the tank with a tech-driven idea, began his pitch with dramatic storytelling and heavy use of industry buzzwords, attempting to impress the investors. However, Anupam Mittal was unimpressed.

Interrupting mid-pitch, Mittal said sharply, “Tune tamaasha kiya hai. You had such a big platform and opportunity, and you wasted it.” He criticised the entrepreneur for focusing more on theatrics than on clear business fundamentals like revenue model, scalability, and profitability.

Mittal added that while creativity is welcome, clarity and conviction matter more in a high-stakes investment room.

Aman Gupta: ‘AI Will Replace You’

Co-Shark Aman Gupta also called out the founder for overcomplicating the pitch with jargon-heavy explanations. Referring to the entrepreneur’s claims about AI integration and automation, Gupta remarked, “Agar sirf buzzwords bolne hain, toh AI will replace you.”

He further quipped, “Teri picture flop hai,” suggesting that the presentation lacked substance despite the dramatic build-up. Gupta emphasised that founders must demonstrate practical execution rather than rely on trendy tech terminology to impress investors.

Sharks Demand Substance Over Style

The Sharks collectively pointed out gaps in the startup’s financials, unclear customer acquisition strategy, and inconsistent projections. While the founder attempted to regain control of the conversation, the panel repeatedly steered him back to core business metrics.

Anupam Mittal stressed that Shark Tank India is not a stage performance but a serious investment platform where entrepreneurs must communicate value crisply and confidently.

No Deal After Heated Exchange

Following the intense grilling, the Sharks opted out one by one, citing lack of clarity and confidence in the business fundamentals. Despite the dramatic pitch, the founder walked away without securing a deal.

The episode has since sparked discussion on social media, with viewers divided over whether the Sharks were too harsh or simply honest. However, the message from the panel was clear: in the Tank, substance trumps spectacle.
