Two Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Teenager, Burning Body Near Majlis Park Metro Station

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old boy and setting his body ablaze near the Majlis Park Metro Station in north-west Delhi in an attempt to destroy evidence, police said on Friday.

The incident occurred near the Majlis Park Metro Station, located in the north-western part of the national capital.

Body Found Charred

According to police officials, information was received about a partially burnt body lying in an open area close to the metro station. A team from the local police station rushed to the spot and secured the area.

Preliminary examination suggested that the victim had suffered blunt force injuries before being set on fire. The body was sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.


Victim Identified as 17-Year-Old

During the investigation, the deceased was identified as a 17-year-old boy from a nearby locality. Police began scanning CCTV footage from surrounding areas and questioned locals to trace suspects.

Family members of the teenager reported him missing a day before the body was discovered.


Accused Arrested

Following sustained investigation and technical surveillance, two suspects were apprehended. During interrogation, they allegedly confessed to bludgeoning the teenager to death over a dispute and subsequently attempting to burn the body to conceal their involvement.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is underway.


Motive Under Probe

Officials stated that the exact motive behind the murder is still being examined. Initial findings suggest a personal dispute may have triggered the crime, though investigators are verifying all angles.


Legal Proceedings

The accused have been produced before a court and remanded to police custody for further questioning. Authorities said more details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
