📰 U.P. Opposition Intensifies Outreach with Social Justice, Secularism Campaigns Across State

Political activity is gaining momentum in Uttar Pradesh as opposition parties ramp up their campaigns, focusing on themes of social justice, secularism, and constitutional values through a series of rallies and public engagements.

The Samajwadi Party recently organised a major event titled ‘Samajwadi Samanta Bhaichara Rally’ in Dadri on March 29. The rally drew significant participation and highlighted issues such as social equality, caste justice, and communal harmony. Party leaders used the platform to criticise the ruling establishment and position themselves as defenders of inclusive politics.

Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress has launched a parallel statewide campaign involving ‘Sadhbhavna Baithak’ (harmony meetings) and ‘Samvidhan Samvad’ (constitution-focused conferences). These programmes are being conducted across various districts to engage directly with citizens on issues related to democratic values, rights, and governance.

Congress leaders have stated that the initiative aims to raise awareness about the Constitution and promote unity among diverse communities. The meetings also serve as a platform to address concerns such as unemployment, inflation, and social divisions.

Political observers note that both parties are attempting to consolidate their voter base ahead of future elections by emphasising ideological themes like secularism and social justice—areas they believe resonate strongly with sections of the electorate in the state.

The coordinated outreach efforts reflect a broader strategy by opposition forces to regain political ground in Uttar Pradesh, one of India’s most politically significant states.

As these campaigns continue, the coming months are expected to witness intensified political engagement, with rallies, conferences, and grassroots programmes shaping the narrative ahead of the next electoral cycle.
