The semi-high-speed train will connect Udaipur in Rajasthan with Asarva station in Ahmedabad, significantly reducing travel time and offering enhanced passenger amenities.

According to railway officials, the train will operate on the Udaipur–Ahmedabad corridor, covering important intermediate stations along the route. Key stoppages are expected to include:

  • Ranapratapnagar

  • Mavli Junction

  • Chittorgarh

  • Bhilwara

  • Ajmer

  • Abu Road

(Exact stoppages may vary as per final schedule notification.)

The service aims to improve connectivity for business travellers, tourists, and daily commuters between southern Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Timings and Frequency

Railway authorities indicated that the Vande Bharat Express is likely to operate six days a week. The train is expected to depart from Udaipur in the early morning hours and reach Asarva (Ahmedabad) around midday. The return journey from Ahmedabad is likely to commence in the afternoon, arriving in Udaipur by evening.

Final timings and ticket booking details are expected to be officially announced soon on Indian Railways’ reservation platforms.

Travel Time and Benefits

The introduction of the Vande Bharat service is expected to cut travel time considerably compared to existing express trains on the route. Equipped with modern features such as automatic doors, comfortable seating, onboard infotainment, and enhanced safety systems, the train promises a premium travel experience.

The Udaipur–Asarva Vande Bharat Express will be particularly beneficial for tourists visiting Udaipur, often referred to as the “City of Lakes,” as well as for passengers travelling to Ahmedabad, a major commercial and industrial hub.

Boost to Regional Connectivity

Officials stated that the new service aligns with the Centre’s push to expand the Vande Bharat network across India, enhancing semi-high-speed connectivity between major cities and regional centres.

With commercial operations set to begin next week, passengers are eagerly awaiting the launch of this much-anticipated rail link between Rajasthan and Gujarat.
