Ujjain Vikram Vyapar Mela 2026: Luxury Car Sales Surge with 50% Tax Rebate; 501 Vehicles Sold on Day One

Ujjain: The Ujjain Vikram Vyapar Mela 2026 has given a massive boost to the automobile sector, with a record-breaking response on its opening day. As many as 501 vehicles were reportedly sold on Day One, driven largely by a 50% tax exemption offered during the fair.

The annual Vikram Vehicle Fair, organised as part of the larger trade exhibition in Ujjain, has emerged as a major attraction for automobile buyers this year. From entry-level cars to high-end luxury vehicles, showrooms witnessed heavy footfall since morning.

Luxury Brands in High Demand

What stood out this year was the overwhelming demand for luxury cars. Premium brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar saw significant bookings, indicating strong consumer sentiment and rising purchasing power.

Dealers said several luxury models were either booked or saw serious inquiries within hours of the fair’s inauguration. Many buyers reportedly took advantage of the 50% tax rebate, which substantially reduced on-road prices.

50% Tax Exemption Drives Sales

The special tax exemption offered during the fair has played a key role in boosting sales. The concession applies to certain state-level vehicle taxes, making the fair one of the most attractive buying opportunities of the year.

Officials stated that the initiative aims to stimulate the automobile market, generate revenue through increased volume, and encourage trade activity in the region.

Breaking Old Records

With 501 vehicles sold on the first day alone, organisers are optimistic that this year’s fair may surpass previous sales records. Dealers noted that advance bookings and inquiries had already indicated strong demand even before the event began.

Industry representatives believe the fair has become a major annual platform for automobile sales in Madhya Pradesh, drawing customers not just from Ujjain but also from nearby districts.

Boost to Local Economy

Apart from benefiting automobile dealers, the fair is expected to positively impact related sectors such as finance, insurance, and accessories. Banks and NBFCs have set up dedicated counters at the venue to facilitate quick loan approvals, further accelerating sales.

As the Vikram Vyapar Mela continues over the coming days, organisers expect even higher sales numbers, particularly during weekends. If the current trend continues, the 2026 edition could set new benchmarks for vehicle sales at the event.
