According to officials, the assailants launched a sudden assault on the camp in eastern Assam, opening indiscriminate fire and hurling multiple grenades. The attack created panic in the area as security forces scrambled to respond and secure the premises.

Police sources said that the injured personnel were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities and are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Following the attack, security forces launched a massive search operation in and around the region to track down the attackers. Additional forces have been deployed, and the area has been cordoned off to prevent any further incidents.

Preliminary reports suggest that the militants managed to flee the spot after carrying out the attack, taking advantage of the terrain and limited visibility. Investigators are examining the sequence of events and possible intelligence lapses that may have led to the breach.

The ULFA (Independent), a banned insurgent group, has been active in parts of Assam and has carried out similar attacks in the past targeting security forces.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over security preparedness in sensitive areas of Assam. Authorities have vowed strict action against those responsible and reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order.

Further details are awaited as the investigation and search operations continue.
