UP Man Beaten to Death After Objecting to Public Urination Near House; Cop Among Accused

Prayagraj: A 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death after he objected to a group of wedding guests urinating near his house in the Naini area of Prayagraj, police said on Friday. One of the accused is reportedly a police constable, intensifying the seriousness of the case.

According to officials, the incident took place late at night when a wedding procession had gathered in the locality. The victim confronted some guests who were allegedly urinating close to the entrance of his residence. What began as a verbal objection soon escalated into a violent altercation.

Assault Turns Fatal

Police said the accused allegedly thrashed the man with sticks and other blunt objects. He sustained severe injuries during the assault and collapsed on the spot. Family members and neighbours rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The victim’s family has alleged that the assault was brutal and unprovoked, demanding strict action against all those involved.


Six Arrested So Far

An FIR has been registered against 12 named individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder. So far, six of the accused have been arrested, while search operations are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.

Police confirmed that one of the accused is a serving constable. Senior officers stated that departmental action will be initiated against him in addition to the criminal case.


Investigation Underway

Authorities said CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined and statements of eyewitnesses are being recorded to establish the sequence of events. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.


The incident has sparked outrage in the locality, with residents calling for swift justice and stronger enforcement against public nuisance and violence.

Police officials have assured that the investigation will be conducted impartially and that strict action will be taken against all those found guilty.
